John was educated at Eastbourne College and then Kings College, London, where he read theology. He trained for the priesthood at St. Augustine’s College, Canterbury. After curacies in St. Mary, Charlton Kings and St. Mary, Portsea, he was vicar of Badgeworth with Shurdington, rector of Dursley, team rector of Ross-on-Wye, and rural dean of Ross and Archenfield. His last post was that of chaplain of Huggens College, Northfleet in Kent. He retired in 2012 with permission to officiate in the Diocese of Gloucester and as bishop’s visitor to the retired clergy in the Stroud Deanery. John became a Trustee in September 2015 and is a member of the Welfare Committee.
