Christopher was educated at Marlborough and Pembroke
College, Cambridge, where he read Law. He qualified as a solicitor in 1971 and
became a partner in the City Law firm of Travers Smith in 1975, specialising in
Corporate Finance. He was elected Senior Partner in 2000, retiring in 2006 to
devote more time to his interests of gardening, music and the north-west coast
of Scotland. He is chairman of the Committee of Management.
